From the second you walk into the office, we wanted clients and colleagues to know that they’re somewhere special. People were at the centre of the brief, with a big focus on workplace benefits and healthy working habits. (All staff have height adjustable desks at the touch of a button) we also wanted to increase the areas available for collaboration, giving staff more room to work and collaborate. Since space was at a premium, we installed semi-private meeting pods. These afford staff somewhere to meet away from their desks and conduct a meeting in relative privacy, yet still open to the floor. While the workstations are lit with bright primary colours, the meeting rooms and client areas feature biophilic touches through the form of wooden slats and metallic wall panels. With such a neat floor space, we used contrasting textures and colours on the carpet to create micro-areas within the open plan area. Whether it’s moving somewhere quiet with a laptop to focus, catching up over coffee, or taking advantage of a formal meeting room for a supplier briefing; NICC were after a variety of working spaces to suit the varied needs of their teams.
