Client Vision

Shimna Integrated College is buried in the forest at the foot of the Mourne Mountains in Newcastle Co. Down. It was established by a group of local parents in 1994 who sought an integrated education for their children and future generations. The original school began with 60 pupils and the latest intake was almost 700.

As the college looked to the future, their vision for the new school building was clear: to create a space that not only meets the needs of a growing and modern learning environment, but also stands the test of time - architecturally, socially, and environmentally.
