Overview

Alpha were pleased to recently contribute to the colourfully redeveloped Queen's University Computer Science Building which allows student reading computer-related subjects to have access to state-of-the-art facilities. The hub spans four floors and includes labs and break-out spaces, providing a meeting place for creative learning and a new mode of teaching. The Alpha team worked closely with Kennedy Fitzgerald Architects to provide a computer suite for the second floor; the new computer suite fits the requirements of the world-class University and supports students and staff in conducting leading-edge education and research, focused on the needs of global society. Ergonomic task seating that morphs to support the user, complemented with fully specialised cable management desking combine to encourage productive and creative learning. The work-space is enhanced by geometric- themed wall graphics and flooring, inspired by digital code – a main mathematical aspect of computer science.
