Alpha worked closely alongside Gleeds, Atelier Ten and Cooper Cromer to deliver this project. This refurbishment project was designed to serve a dual purpose; to create a flexible teaching area and provide an allocation of student study space. An industrial theme was intended, with extensive use of a darker colour scheme to compliment the exposed services within the ceiling profile.A combination of flip-top tables and stackable chairs was used to create a flexible teaching environment to cater for up to 32 students. The chosen furniture solutions were used in this area in order to allow teaching staff to easily create a variety of layouts to facilitate different teaching methods. The study area of the space included a combination of team benches, height-adjustable desking solutions and individual working booths. Ambient lighting integrated within the bench systems helped to create a warmth within the space and soft-seating elements provided students with more relaxed areas to study in.
